Class Description: Our Ballet/Lyrical Dance Class for ages 10 and up combines the elegance of ballet with the expressive qualities of lyrical dance. This class is designed to help dancers develop strong technical skills while exploring the emotional and artistic aspects of lyrical dance in a supportive and inspiring environment. What to Expect: *Ballet Techniques: Strengthening ballet fundamentals, including positions, steps, and terminology, with an emphasis on proper alignment, balance, and technique. *Lyrical Dance: Exploration of lyrical dance, which combines ballet and jazz techniques to convey emotions and tell a story through fluid, expressive movement. *Barre and Center Work: Incorporating ballet exercises at the barre and center to build strength, flexibility, and control. *Choreography: Learning and performing lyrical routines that blend technical precision with expressive storytelling, enhancing performance skills. *Musicality and Emotion: Developing a deep connection with the music, focusing on expressing emotions and creating a narrative through dance. *Creative Expression: Encouraging individual creativity and interpretation, allowing dancers to bring their own unique artistry to their movements. Attire: Girls: Leotard, ballet tights, ballet slippers, and optional dance skirts. Boys: Fitted t-shirt, shorts or leggings, and ballet slippers. Hair should be secured away from the face.
